SECTION 1

What this site is

This site describes Polarisk's occupational health services and provides general guidance about UK health surveillance duties. It also hosts two free tools: the surveillance check and the psychosocial readiness check.

SECTION 2

Guidance, not advice

Nothing on this site is legal advice, and nothing on it is a clinical opinion about any individual. Health surveillance duties depend on your own exposures, your risk assessment and your rostering, and should be confirmed against current HSE guidance and the regulations themselves. Descriptions of regulations are summaries written to be useful, not a substitute for the text of the law.

If you are a worker with a health concern about your work, this site is not a route to a diagnosis. Speak to your GP or your occupational health service.

SECTION 3

The free tools

• Both tools run entirely in your browser. Answers are scored on your own device and are not transmitted to or stored by us.
• Their output is an estimate for planning, produced from a small number of questions. It is not an assessment of your legal position, and it is not a quotation.
• The surveillance check draws its programme catalogue from the same source as the platform, so the two do not drift apart. That makes it consistent; it does not make it a substitute for your own risk assessment.
• Do not enter personal data about identifiable individuals into either tool. Neither asks for any, and neither needs any.

SECTION 4

Acceptable use

You may read, print and share these pages for your own organisation's internal purposes, including in a compliance file or a board pack, with the source attributed. You may not republish substantial parts of this site as your own material, present our guidance as your own professional advice, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or platform.

SECTION 5

Availability

We aim to keep this site available and current, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and guidance reflects our understanding at the time of writing. Regulations and HSE guidance change. Where a page carries a review date, that is when it was last checked.

SECTION 6

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the general guidance or the free tools on this site. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Liability under a Polarisk engagement is dealt with in that engagement's written agreement, not here.

SECTION 7

Links out

We link to HSE, standards bodies and published research so you can check what we say. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, and a link is not an endorsement of anything else the organisation publishes.

Privacy

How we handle data is set out in the privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.

If we change these terms we will update the date below. For anything in them, contact us at hello@polarisk.co.uk. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
